5. Discrimination on the grounds of race or religion
There is a very high percentage response to the ‘never’ category, see Table 5a, except in the education categories, see Table 5b, where the ‘no response’ category has the highest percentage response.
The majority of the respondents had faced verbal abuse but only a minority had experienced physical abuse. The majority of the respondents affirmed that their children had not experienced discrimination at school or at work, see Tables 5c and 5d. The categories, ‘frequently’, ‘quite often’, ‘sometimes’ and ‘rarely’ for the affirmation of racial abuse, both verbal and physical, have been simplified into one category of ‘yes’.
