Introduction
The 1976 survey was carried out by Professor John Hinnells under the auspices of the department of Comparative Religion at the University of Manchester, The Open University, Milton Keynes and with the co-operation of the Zoroastrian community in the UK: the questionnaires were initially distributed through ZTFE headquarters in London. Dr G.M. Towler Mehta transferred the data from the questionnaires to the computer. The frequency distributions of some of the answers to the questions in the 1976 survey are given in the ‘thumb prints’.
